“With heavy hearts, we write this post. It still feels like we’re in the middle of a terrible dream, waiting for Gill to come through the back door with her infectious giggles and her unwavering desire to please us, just like she always did. She was like a human in a Velcro grey coat — always by our side.
Unfortunately, a rare progressive condition called insuloma drained all her energy, and in the end, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go. It feels far too soon, and we are left shattered.
She was the sweetest and happiest soul, a human in a Weimaraner costume. She embodied the essence of this breed, being the perfect representative. Gill was a master at being a chair sitter, always ready to keep us company. She was our best overall companion, bringing joy and love into our lives. Not only was she clever at hunting, but she also had the role of a mother, giving birth to 3 litters of precious puppies. From one of those litters, she blessed us with Meara, who has a promising future ahead.
Gill was a true champion in every sense of the word. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
